WHAT IS WEDNESDAY'S "AGAPE NIGHT?"

WHAT IS WEDNESDAY'S "AGAPE NIGHT?"

    WHAT IS WEDNESDAY'S "AGAPE NIGHT?"

From the dictionary, AGAPE is: "(1) A meal eaten in common by a Christian congregation in token of brotherly love." (2) :"...a gathering held to promote reconciliation and good feeling or show someone affectionate honor." Thus, our "AGAPE Night" gatherings are just that: meals offered to everyone, regardless of status or stature whether rich, poor, homeless or otherwise as a token of love and comittment to their needs.

So what happens at an Agape Night gathering? Is someone going to preach at me? Don't worry: Nobody is going to come up and try to take you away from your home church if you have one. If you are *LOOKING* for a church to attend, then feel free to ask questions about us as we're happy to answer them and absolutely everyone is welcome here.

On a typical Wednesday night, the doors are open from 6-7 PM. People gather in the main "fellowship" area (large room) just inside the doors. You'll see a varied assortment of food laid out on counters or tables. A prayer is spoken in thanks to God for the food, then you just help yourself like you would at an average potluck.

After it looks like most people are finished eating, a short devotional message is given. Although we encourage you to stay and listen to it, it is not a requirement by any means, as we offer Agape as a totally free no-strings-attached public service. A typical devotional might last around 15 minutes. We also have a small "clothes closet" and a food pantry for those with urgent needs. Just ask.

The most important thing to remember is this: WE ARE HERE TO SERVE. If there is anything we can do to help you, please let us know. There is no problem too trivial to ask about.

Questions? Call our office weekdays 9-12 at 541-756-4844 or email: NBCOC@Hotmail.com - You can also use the "CONTACT US" link at the top of the screen. Thank you for reading this, and we hope to see you soon. Note: If for some reason we must cancel a gatering, it will be announced ASAP on the church's electronic sign board.
