Greetings Everyone: We have prepared this document to answer some of the questions people might have about the Church of Christ in North Bend, Oregon. If you have other questions not covered here, please contact us.

OUR CORE BELIEFS

The Bible is the inspired Word of God – a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:10)

Jesus is the Son of God.  He is the one and only sacrifice for our sins and He arose from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 3:16; John 10:30)

Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Jesus as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)

Those willing to follow and obey Jesus should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him for the forgiveness of sins. (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38)

The church is the Body of Christ on earth, it is empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to bring those outside of a relationship with Jesus to Jesus and to build up other believers. (Ephesians 4:1-16)

Jesus Christ will one day return to take God’s children to be with him in heaven forever! (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR WORSHIP

Our worship is filled with songs of praise, scripture, communion, and prayer to our wonderful Father, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We seek to glorify our God while also building each other up. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Come as you are, and experience Jesus with us!

THE MESSAGE

We believe it is important to deliver relevant and applicable lessons that are helpful to daily life and true to God’s Word. Whether you’re young or old, seeking Christ for the first time, or a longtime Christian, there’s something in the lesson for you.

PRAISE

One of the unique things about North Bend Church of Christ is that the music is ‘a cappella,’ meaning that we sing without musical instruments. We love the beauty and joy of worshiping God from our hearts with our voices. We believe you will find the singing meaningful and uplifting.  Everyone is invited to be an active participant in our worship.

LORD’S SUPPER

Each Sunday we celebrate the Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection through participating in communion.  You are welcome to share in the body and blood of Jesus through the taking of bread and grape juice as we partake with the Lord Jesus and each other.

OFFERING

Each Sunday we pass trays to collect a weekly financial offering to support our work in the church.  You are not expected to make a donation.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?         

Bring them! We have an attended nursery for children 2 and under at any time, and classes for 2^nd grade and below during our sermon time.  But we invite all kids to participate in our worship. In fact, it’s not uncommon for some of our young men to lead us in prayer and read scripture.

EDUCATION

We have a Sunday Bible Classes for children, teens, and adults each Sunday morning at 9:30am.  We would love to have you come join us in this time of learning and growth.

AGAPE – WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Join us every Wednesday Night at 6pm for Agape Night.  Our evening focuses on sharing a meal together and meeting each other’s needs.   We welcome all members of our community to join us as we share a warm meal, friendly conversation, and worship.  We also have our food pantry during this time as well.  There are many ways to serve and be involved in this ministry opportunity.

OTHER MINISTRIES

We have many active church ministries led by many wonderful servants.  It is our desire that every member be actively involved in the work of loving God, loving others, and serving the world.  Talk with our minister, elders, deacons, or ministry servants about how to get involved.
