Tuesday August 6th 2024. 1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. Understanding God's love is the secret of loving God. Your love for God is a response to His love for you. You are only capable of loving the Lord based on the depth of your understanding of the love He has for you. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. You wouldn't have been able to love God the way He wants to be loved if He had not first loved you. Knowing and understanding the depth of God’s love for you will position you in wisdom and grace to respond by faith to every situation that confront you. Knowing and understanding God's love for you will cause you to have a heart and mind that is fully focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work. Ignorance of the love of God for you in Christ will cause you to think, speak and act contrary to the will of God. The knowledge and understanding of God's love is the driving force of faith. It is easy to take God at His word when you know and understand His love for you. The level of your obedience to the Lord is determined by how much you understand His love for you. To understand God's love you must clearly see the cross of Christ and the wonderful benefits you stand to enjoy as a result of the sacrifice of Christ. Refuse to doubt God's love for you in Christ Jesus. Focus your heart and mind on God’s unconditional love for you. Let the knowledge and understanding of God's love drive your faith to make the most of the sufficiency of the grace of God, today and always. Think About This: 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Action Points: 1. Know and believe the love God has for you in Christ. 2. Let the knowledge of God’s love for you drive your faith to convert the grace of God to your testimony of victorious daily living. Prayer: 1. Father, thank you for loving me unconditionally, in Jesus name. 2. Pray in the Spirit as one who is loved by God. Today’s Bible Reading: John 19:1-42. Your day is blessed. |
