Faith verses Fear And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So, we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. (1 John 4:17-18). We understand that faith and fear are opposites. Let’s check our hearts to see how much fear or faith we have as this world falls apart all around us. If we are in the faith, we can face these coming days of shaking without fear. If we need more faith, we need to agree with John the Baptist when speaking of Jesus, he said: He must increase but I must decrease (John 3:30 NKJV). We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers (1 John 4:19-21). Another test for us to know if we are in the faith is, how much do we love our fellow believers? Jesus had enough love to lay down His life for us, but do we have enough love to lay our lives down for our brothers and sisters in Jesus. These are some challenging questions we should be asking ourselves and let us be honest and truthful in our evaluation. Father, help us see the truth and to be honest with ourselves and see ourselves the way You see us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen! DUKE JUNIOR .
