Topic: "Do Not Make Yourself An Enemy Of God." By Apostle Sunday Ayodele, Lagos, Nigeria -- Friday March 24th 2023.

James 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

The Lord Jesus Christ in saying that the believer is not of the world condemned friendship with the world. He forbids those in union with Him from being slaves to the things of this world.
To be friends with the world is to see and embrace its ways as the standard for daily living. It is to choose to be carnally minded rather than to be spiritually minded.

Friendship with the world will disconnect you from the realities of having the life of Christ in you. It will cut off from enjoying the grace benefits that abound in Christ Jesus.
Worldliness will expose you to the darkness that covers the earth and subject you to the gross darkness that rules the hearts of the people of the world.

A believer who is given to worldliness cannot please God. He cannot please God because he is always in the flesh (Romans 8:7).

Seeing that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God ought to make you distance yourself from the ways of the world and its attractions that enslave the destinies of men.
You owe it to yourself to never be caught up in the way the world think, speak and act. You owe it to yourself to walk in the Spirit always.

See to it that you are always spiritually minded. Vigorously engage in the pursuit of being transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Deny the flesh its ungodly desires. Refuse to be a slave of material things. Wholeheartedly reject the wisdom that hold men captive to the darkness of Satan, today and always.

Think About This:

James 3:15‭-‬16
This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

Daily Affirmation:
I affirm on this day my love for the Lord and His ways. I affirm that I am fully committed to living daily according to the dictates of the wisdom of God. I refuse to be a slave of material things that hold the destiny of men captive to the darkness that covers the world and rule their hearts. I reject worldly living. I choose friendship with God and all the wonders that goes with being spiritually minded. Amen.

Prayer: Pray aggressively in the Spirit.

Daily Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians chapter 13.
