Topic: Keep No Record - By Sunday Ayodele, Lagos, Nigeria Published Wednesday February 1st 2023. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. The God kind of love has great and amazing characteristics; it is patient, kind, does not envy, is not boastful, it is not proud, does not dishonor others, never self seeking, not easily provoked to anger, and does not engage itself in keeping the record of the wrongs done to it by others. Love's quality of not keeping record of wrongs is proof that it is divine and it is truly of God. The carnal mind stores every wrong done to it. It recalls hurts of years past with the exact details of what transpired. The carnal mind helps to retain the hurts of yesterday, keeping it fresh to enable you to feast on the pains that others caused you so you may not forgive them as ordained by the Lord. Scriptures teach that the love of God has been poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). As who is in union with the Lord Jesus Christ, you have the capacity to not keep record of the wrongs done to you by others. Within you lies the divine ability to forgive as well as heal from hurts and pains caused you by others. Love's nature of not keeping record of wrong done against it is a function of spiritual mindedness. It takes being spiritually minded to not keep record of wrongs. The spiritual mind focuses on doing the will of God only (Romans 12:2). It delights in allowing the word of God have its way. It is not given to emotional sentiments that cause men to hold on to past hurts making them unforgiving and unwilling to let go of the past. The spiritual mind keeps only one record - the record of the love God has for you in Christ Jesus. It is easy to let go of the past when your heart is focused on enjoying the great love the Lord has shown you. Spiritual mindedness helps to break the power of past hurts so you are able to let go. You cannot walk in love without being spiritually minded. Love is spiritual; it takes being spiritually minded to activate and express it fully on a daily basis by the Spirit. Be spiritually minded; keep no record of wrongs done to you by others. Be spiritually minded, today and always. Think About This: 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Daily Affirmation: I affirm that the love of God has been poured into my heart by the Spirit. I have the love nature of my heavenly Father. I have the ability to love like my heavenly Father. I also have the ability to forgive hurts done against me and heal from hurts and pain caused me by others. I affirm that I am spiritually minded; I do not focus on the past; my heart and mind is fully focused on the future the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ guarantees for me. Amen. Prayer: Pray in the Spirit. Daily Bible Reading: Acts chapter 10. You are blessed beyond measure. |
