"Come Unto Me" - Extract from Bible Chat by Irum Nadeem:

Come unto me, all ye that are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11. 28 Now we know the invitation and ask ourselves: Who is invited? The strong who think they have everything are not invited. Not even the pious who imagine they have found their way to God. It is addressed here to those who no longer have confidence in themselves. Those who know that life is not a child's play, that it is oppressive and burdensome and that tears and sadness are accumulated. Jesus Christ invites me to come to Him. - What can I expect from him? Not just sympathy or relief (that too.) But He Himself frees me from the burden of guilt and sin and gives me peace of conscience, deep, inner-experienced peace. Jesus Christ made this peace "by the blood of his cross," he suffered and died for it. This peace is about my personal relationship with God. And this is a unique gift! He is captive and eternal.🙏🙏🙏
