Luke 8:21
And he answered and said unto them, my mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

The Lord places great premium on His word. Scriptures teach that He has magnified His word above all His names. The word of the Lord is the conveyor of His life and grace. Believers who hear the word and do it are very special in the sight of the Lord. He bestows special privileges on them. Hearers and doers of the word are spiritual VIP in the kingdom of God.

To constantly hear the word taught, yet fail to commit to doing the word makes you a hypocrite. You loose the essence of being a saint in Christ when you choose to be a mere hearer of the word. There is nothing special about a believer who is only committed to hearing the word; he is no different from an unbeliever. To treat the word of God as nothing is to become nothing.

Seeing that the word of God is the power of God that delivers salvation to those who believe makes it necessary to act on it. The power of God unto salvation is released when Saints act on the word. Acting on the word affirms your identity and establishes you in the grace of God that is in Christ Jesus, causing you to excel in righteousness and prosper in all your ways.

Your worth lies in the worth you place on the word and what you do with it having heard it. You are only as special to the Lord as your diligent commitment to hearing His word and applying it in all that you do. Settle it in your heart and mind to be a diligent hearer of the word and a diligent doer of it today and always.

Think About This:
James 1:22 — 25
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Faith Confession:
I am a hearer and a doer of the word. I hear the word to do it. I identify with Christ Jesus and His finished work through hearing the word and doing what it says. My glory and honour lies in hearing the word and applying the wisdom I derive from hearing it in my thoughts, words and deed to the glory of God. Hallelujah!

Prayer:
Pray aggressively in the Spirit.
