1 Peter 2:2 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby."

Desire is the driving force of pursuit. Without desire pursuit is practically impossible. The Lord Jesus said, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6). To desire is to earnestly long for a thing.
In the quest for spiritual maturity, the believer in Christ Jesus is urged to desire the nourishing grace of the word as a baby does his mother's milk. This implies that spiritual growth is not possible without having desire for the word. It takes the word for a believer to be built up and possess his inheritance in Christ.

Your spiritual sustenance lies in the word. Feeding on the word releases spiritual nourishment to your soul. The scriptures teach that the engrafted word is able to save your soul. Being born of the word it is necessary that you be sustained by the word. You can't be born of the word and rely on the flesh for daily sustenance. Nothing else will help you grow and flourish in Christ Jesus apart from the word. The more of the word you are able to get into your heart the more you will grow and glow.

Seeing that all it takes to grow in grace and be established in it is desire for the word and feeding on it see to it to you get more and more of it into your heart. You owe yourself that much. Go for the word of grace. Let the nourishing grace of the word keep you in faith. Let the nourishing grace of the word empower you to excel in righteousness and prosper in all you do, today and always.

Think About This: James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Faith Confession:I am born of the word. I am sustained by the word. I desire and acquire the nourishing grace of the word to enable me excel in righteousness and prosper in all my ways. Hallelujah.

Prayer: Pray in the Spirit.

Daily Bible Reading: James chapter 3.

Your day is blessed.
