| This sermon was given on a day when we were adding additional elders and deacons to our leadership, and was the final lesson about their value and purpose. It is a really good lesson about what they do and why we need them. There had been several lessons leading up to this point as we chose additional men from our group to help with the leadership, and this was sort of a summary of all of them. If your congregation is ready to select elders or deacons, or if you just wondered what they are all about and the scriptural basis (and requirements) for them, this is a great lesson for those questions. After the lesson, two men who were added to our leadership speak on their thoughts about being selected as elders - Mike and Tracy. Their thoughts are very inspiring. |
