| 04-14-13 - Norm Russell - Title: Ambassadors for Christ - Conflicts between nations have been around as long as there have been nations. Nations depend on ambassadors to resolve problems. Problems also happen when people treat others they don't even know as potential opponents, instead of possible -friends- to be gained. This lesson, drawn from Ephesians 2:11-22, reminds us how we are to be God's ambassadors, resisting being judgemental of those we don't even know. We are to stay away from the -us vs. them- metality and resist seeing others only by society's standards. Remember, Jesus died for ALL of us. Our job is to draw people to Christ, becoming an -agent of peace- for Him. We're expected to accept others as they are as we complete our role as a servant for Christ. We serve Christ, but we also serve each other, and those we don't even know yet. We can help draw them in, and let God work in their lives to solve whatever problem they may have, so they can have the same hope that we enjoy. |
