| The mystery of God is the unity of all believers with Christ as revealed in the church. Marriage is intended to be a witness to the world of the love of Christ for the church. As Christ loved the church, so a husband should love his wife. As God first loved us and we choose to respond by submitting to his love, wives should respond and reflect that love through submission and love for her husband. Marriage is our witness to the world of Christ’s love for us. Love is God’s use of his power and authority, submission is out voluntarily response, reflection, and revelation of that love. |
