| Sermon Summary 9/24/17 Sermon Title: Motivated by Love Primary Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Followers of Jesus are called to make disciples. He commands his fishers of men to, go and make disciples, baptize these new believers into the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and to teach them everything they know about following Jesus. Jesus so loved his followers, that his disciples should also love others. Love is the only pure motivation for making and teaching other disciples. It is easy for followers to respond to this command out of obligation and a desire for self-recognition. A follower’s desire should be to purely know Christ and want others to know his love as well. If disciples are to teach what has been seen and taught by Christ, disciple-makers will live by example, lay down one’s life, listen, learn, and love. Love is what draws people to Christ.
