| Title: Hungry – Stay Scripture: John 6:63-69 Jesus is the bread of life. He has made God known to us through his words and deeds. Jesus has come to give us eternal life if we will eat of his body and drink of his blood. The Lord came down from heaven to make us his own. He is faithful and will not lose us. Jesus makes himself available to us by offering his very life. We must believe and obey his teachings. Even after many convincing truths, many will still not believe. Many will turn back and stop following. Many of the disciples who saw Jesus and heard his teaching did this very thing. This is a hard teaching to accept. It doesn’t make it any easier that Christians can make it even more confusing by our mixed messages and lack of obedience. The good news is that the Lord enables us and chooses us to come and follow him. Even when many do leave what will you do? Simon Peter answered, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69) We are enabled and chosen to believe in the Lord. Come and eat. Once you have eaten take the bread of life with you to those who don’t have eternal life.
