| Hungry For Home Scripture: John 6:35-51 Jesus challenges his followers with an invitation to believe in him. This belief involves more than just seeing him. For he says, *You have seen me and still you do not believe(Jn. 6:36). The multitude had followed him because he filled their stomachs with food, but he wanted to satisfy them to eternal life. Jesus calls them to do the work of believing in him. Jesus repeatedly says that he has come down from heaven, alerting them to his home with God. Jesus confesses his commitment to the Lords will, by claiming, keeping, and saving all those who come to him. Jesus invites his followers to believe in him by consuming his very life. Jesus says, *I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever* (Jn. 6:51). Jesus calling is ultimate a call to come home. Jesus hosts his followers into the kingdom of God by inviting them to a feast. The food of the feast is nothing less than his very own life. Jesus is the bread of life. He who comes to Jesus will never be hungry and he who believes in Jesus will never be thirsty. Jesus is calling you to come home, sit at the welcome table, and feast.
