| Sermon Summary: All Who are Thirsty: Well? Scripture John 4:43-5:15 Jesus is on an eternal mission. His purpose on this earth was lead everyone to believe that he is the Christ and that only through him does one find eternal life. Jesus comes as a humble servant in order that mankind will submit to him as Lord. In this world we face trials of many kinds. The Lord does not promise a life free of pain and suffering. He does care about our temporal and physical needs, but not above our eternal salvation. In this passage he says, “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders you will never believe” (Jn. 4:48). Jesus will give physical wellness but he desperately invites us into a life of worship. He knows that physical wellness has value, but godliness has value for the life to come (1 Tim. 4:8). Jesus asks in the second healing story of this selection, “Do you want to get well?” (Jn. 5:6). That is the question, do we want to get well? What kind of well? Temporal or Eternal? If the answer is eternal then believe that Jesus is Lord and stop sinning. Live in obedience to him. Questions or comments? Contact me!
