| Sermon Summary Title: Soul Care Scripture: Luke 24:17-19 (Run time: 27 minutes) As Jesus joins the two disciples on their walk to Emmaus, they are kept from recognizing him. Jesus picks up on their conversation, including their sad tone and downward body language. The disciples are filled with great grief and sorrow over the loss of their hoped for Messiah. Jesus shows great care for them by how he asks questions and walks with them through their pain. Jesus models how we might enter into the hearts and lives of others in our life today through showing compassion. Jesus asks questions, patiently waits, and listens as the disciples open up their hurts and hang-ups with the Lord. Jesus cares and we are called to extend that same love and care towards others. Let us continue to journey with others along this road of life with both its joys and sorrows.
