| Sermon Summary: 12/04/16 Prelude to Jesus the Messiah: Where is the King? Matthew 2:1-11 A star led the Magi, a group of pagan astrologers, to respond to the birth of Jesus the Messiah. God choose to reveal himself to them to show the world that he has come to be king over all people and all nations. Herod and his chief priests were not seeking or watching for the new king. They were threatened by the idea of a new ruler. Upon finding the house where the child was, the Magi became overjoyed. When they saw the child they responded with worship and the offering of gifts. Where is the king today? Where would people find him? How are we seeking and pursuing the king today? A new light has dawned that will never go out, let us respond with praise and worship. Let us shine the light in the darkness. The King is here, let the New Song play loud and clear. This is the prelude the song of Jesus the Messiah.
