| This is a far-reaching lesson about how much God stays with us, no matter what happens, and whether we acknowledge His presence or not. The lessons starts out with Genesis 25:23 discussing how He is with us at birth - and expands to tell the story of Esau and his twin brother Jacob and the story of how the birthright changed hands over nothing more than a bowl of soup! Next, the lesson goes on to tell the story of Laban in Genesis chapters 29-30. It is basically a long and convoluted story (as written in the Bible) of treachery and deceit that became quite an unsolvable mess until the people involved suddenly remembered God.. and reached out to Him. The next part of the lesson deals with Jacob and his name change -- to Israel. This occurs in Genesis 32:22-28 and is quite interesting in itself. The entire lesson basically deals with people making a mess of their spirituality and in the end finding God can fix it. Something many of us do ourselves, if we let Him... |
