| Bryan Johnston's first sermon as pulpit minister for North Bend. Bryan served as Youth Minister for us nine years ago, and accepted the main minister's role as Norm Russell is retiring. After introducing himself to those who may not know him and telling about his background and biographical information, Bryan went on to a wonderful lesson about faith, and how strong and true faith in God can not only protect us, but can enhance our lives. This lesson was titled I AM, and is developed from Exodus chapter 3 - and tells about how God revealed Himself to Moses. Moses, shocked, was then told of what plans God had for him. Not unexpectedly, Moses was doubtful that he could even do what God wanted. He was concerned that people might not believe or respect him for what he was to come to do. The really important point here is that God basically convinces Moses that NOBODY (not even murderers) is beyond the reach of God to return to His work. God also reminds Moses that He was never unaware of His people's needs. God believed in Moses and gave him the ability to save God's people from the sickening evils being done on the people by the ruling Egyptian pharaohs. This is a great lesson - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. |
