| A truly exceptional lesson by our past youth minister Bryan Johnston, who was visiting with us. This lesson centers on the importance of the family table. You know, the one in your kitchen - where the family gathers to share meals, prayers, and so very much more. Its interesting that Jesus also chose a table to share the plan of His death and resurrection.. and how its interesting that we gather around a table when we celebrate the Lords Supper (aka: communion) service. There are many references to gatherings and tables in scripture, and Bryan brings out many of these and shows how important our family gatherings really are. Bryan also tells about how valuable each and every single one of us are. Most of you have heard the parable of the lost sheep, how the shepherd set aside all of his 99 sheep to search for the one that was lost. But no matter how many times you have heard it, you MUST hear how Bryan tells it!! It is a combination of honesty, Bible scripture, and outright funny. Probably one of the most engaging telling of the story I have heard in decades. I am quite sure you will be very blessed to hear this lesson. Please share it with others. *** UPDATE 9-13-16 *** Bryan Johnston has accepted the pulpit ministry position for the church as Norm Russell retires. As I write this,he's enroute from Oklahoma with his family. Norm has served the church faithfully here for 27 years, and saw to our education with thoughtful, concise, and in-depth lessons. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his service and wish him well as he takes his seat in the audience.... :-) |
