| The Sin Of Hypocrisy -How to Avoid It. We continue to see carnage in the world, in America, Paris, Brussells - the list goes on and on... Persecution because of one's faith is nothing new; it comes in many forms and has for Centuries . In Luke 11:37-52 Jesus pronounces various woes on the parisees, and in chapter 12, it gets worse. None the less, parisees continue to persecute Christians, and believers continue to stand firm for what they believe in. This is a great lesson about standing up for what you believe. Some people think Christians are hypocritical... saying one thing and quoting the Bible, but doing something entirely opposite most of the time. Sort of like the saying "Sunday Christians" - We avoid THE SIN OF HYPOCRISY mainly by being genuine. We avoid talking about others and their personal lives and personal matters. We need to GUARD WHAT WE SPEAK, being careful that all is proper in the eyes of God. Ephesians 4:29New International Version (NIV) says, "29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. " and there is a lot of value to that. There are many more good points made in this lesson and I'm sure you'll be blessed by it. |
