| Norm Russell - Teach Us To Pray - Part 1 - Part 1: This lesson covers the first three elements of what Jesus set forth as important for prayer. Understand though, there is -no such thing- as a -Lord's Prayer- (such as what we read in Matthew 6:9-15) in real life; instead, it is an outline Jesus gave the disciples so they could understand what to do. This lesson teaches US the basics of what to do, and is continued in next lesson as well, and goes on in Part 2 to expand in even greater detail. These two lessons may be the most important ones you hear - please take time to hear and share them. Even if you were at worship that day and heard them once, listen again. I will bet you will gain more again from them. -- Mark's Commentary -- Some people might say we spend too much time talking about prayer and how powerful it is. But think of it this way: If you had something that was so powerful it could change the lives of people around you for the better, and you could get it to them free of charge, why would you NOT do it? Why would you NOT share it with them? Tell people about it. Share it. Do it WITH them - lead the way! Show them how. Let them know that Satan will be there to try and beat down their resolve when they pray to God, because as they say, Satan is a sore loser, and when souls turn toward God, that's when the grip of Satan will start to weaken - until finally, with persistence, it is gone altogether. You CAN do this. If you need help, we are here and we WILL help you. The first thing you have to do is the hardest - work up the courage to ask for help.
