"All Hands" - by Bryan Johnston
Mark
(Written 1-22-17)

The hands of sinners crucified the Lord. Their hands misused the word of God to have Jesus killed as a criminal. The leaders pushed him around and hurled accusations at him. Herod dressed him up in a robe and tried to enticed him into entertaining him with a miracle. Others formed a crown of thorns and forced it on our Lords head. Our Messiah was led through the streets in shame and made to carry his own cross. Jesus was flogged to near death then nailed to the rugged tree. Finally he was pierced with a sword and buried in a town. The sinful work of man was done.

God did not withhold Jesus, even after he pleaded to let this cup pass from him. Our lord was handed over for our trespasses and died for our salvation. The power of God was revealed through Jesus and redemption was given through his resurrection. The saving work of God was done.

Jesus suffered and died for all our sins. He washed our hands clean of all our sin and stain. The Lord forgave us for all the mess we caused with the misuse of our hands. By his wounds we are healed. We are forgiven, we are made new. How will you use your hands to serve and worship the Lord today?
