Joshua led Israel in battle against the inhabitants of Canaan. Following the defeat of the enemy, he called the people together and said “Choose today who you will serve . . .” He gave them an option, either serve the gods of their enemy or the God who delivered them from Egypt and gave them victory over the Canaanite people. Today you and I are confronted with those same options. We can serve the god of power, the god of success, the god of pleasure, the god of self, the god of wealth, or the God of heaven. What choice will you make? Some have chosen one or more of the above, ignoring the God of heaven while others have attempted to make Him a choice along with the others.
