Sometimes we find ourselves in a boring and seemingly dead end life. We see others doing things, going places, or accumulating material wealth and we become unhappy with where and who we are. We might even say, "I am in a rut." When we find ourselves feeling that way, let me suggest you not do what far to many have done-they imploded. They pursued things and did things that brought about their own destruction. Rather than becoming destructive, take a serious look at where you are, what are your resources, and what are your options. Getting out of a rut can be risky, but it can also be extremely rewarding. If you find yourself faced with limited options because of limited resources, begin to envision ways to increase the resources. Maybe you have some personal limitations. Look for ways you might be able to change that. God wants us to live a fulfilled life. However, it is up to us to begin living it. |
