Promises, Promises, who keeps promises? If someone has made a promise to you, you expect them to keep it. When they do not you are not so inclined to believe them again when they make a promise. You may have made a promise and not kept it. Did it bother you? Did you feel some regret when you failed on your promise? I hope so, unfortunately, some feel nothing at all when their word is broken and that says something about their character.
In an interview, our president was reminded of a promise he had made to the Hispanic community he had not kept. He attempted to explain it, but the more he spoke, the worse his situation became. However, he is not the first person to make a promise to his constituents and failed to keep it, and he will not be the last. We need to hold all of our elected officials accountable for promises made.
God made numerous promises. Beginning in the Garden of Eden, and all through the scriptures you find God making promises to His people. He has never failed to keep even one of those declarations. You can trust Him. He will never fail you and He will never not keep His word.
