Negativism is a cancer that spreads more quickly than a forest fire. Maybe it is because we tend to be more inclined to listen and believe that which is wrong then we are to focus on the good. Those whose lives are given over to the ugly side, speak of all that is wrong and offer little in changing the situation. I have known people who are what I just described and no one wants to spend much time with them. Contrast that with a person who is upbeat, excited about life and can only see the sunshine in spite of a horrible rain storm. People gravitate to those folks, spend untold hours getting a transfusion of positiveness that gives them a new life. Jesus always had a crowd around Him. People listened as He lifted their spiritis, gave them a reason for living and ****ured them that God loved them. The Pharisees who were always on the outlook for anything wrong had few if any coming to them. Why would anyone want to hang around someone who never could see good in the law of God. Their rules, tradiitons, and condemnation wore people down. Jesus gave them a new life. Who are you listening to? |
