And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. ( (There are not many verses in this chapter, read the whole thing for the rest of the details.) (If you don't have a bible you can download one at esword.com, there are several versions there are many are free.)) Thought: In this chapter John gives details of the new heaven. Dimension, precious stones, etc. It got me to wondering about a lot of small details that in the end don't really matter, or they shouldn't. We tend to put things into catagories we can understand. A mansion with many rooms, streets of gold etc. You can look up the dimensions listed in this chapter and figure out how big (or small) heaven is, but just how big is a soul? How much room will it actually take up? And the critical question, how many of our souls will make it there? God made it big enough for every single soul there ever was. The choices we make during this life will determine where our eternal souls will rest. We all need to take care that we make the right ones. |
