A young preacher stood before his congregation. It was a hot muggy day and it was during the days of no air conditioning. The windows were open to allow air to pass through during worship. His notes were laid out perfectly on the pulput and as he began to speak a gust of wind blew through picking up his notes and carried them out the window on the opposite side of the building. He calmly looked at the audience and said, "When I came up here to speak, only God and I knew what I was going to say. "Now only God knows." I felt like that young man last Sunday. I was greeting various individuals welcoming them to our assembly when someone mentioned my glasses were broken. I removed them and one ear piece simply hung from my ear. This was minutes before time to begin. Now what do I do? Crisis (even minor ones) never comes at a convenient time. Why didn't my glasses break on Saturday? Why now? Truth is, there never is a good time for things to go wrong. How you face your particular situation is up to you. You can either take control, or let it control you. Believe me if you choose the latter you are in for a rough time. Come see us Sunday. |
