Who would have thought that one would have to pay nearly one hundred dollars to fill their fuel tank at a gas station? That is just the tip of the ice burg. Consider what increases in fuel cost does to the rest of our economy. Food prices go up, clothing costs go up, and other necessary items increase in cost because of transportation costs. People look to government for their solutions. Surely government can make those greedy oil companies lower the price of gas. That may be true but government cannot do everything for us. They have little control in what happens in the marketplace. There are only two places we can turn for help. The first is self. We need to recognize that as individuals it is important to become self-reliant. When you begin to turn to others or to institutions to solve your problems, you have just stepped out onto a slippery slope that ends in disaster. The other is God. That is not to say that God is going to lower the cost of anything, He is not. However, we turn to Him because He has the answers to life's most challenging issues: Marriage, doubts, fear, tomorrow and others. Give your life to God and He will see you through the most difficult time in your life. Edited by Cheryl Owens on 07/06/2012 13:53 |
