Ervin Johnson burst on the scene as one of America's most gifted basketball players. His ability to play the game thrilled the crowds and during his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, many championships were won. However, in 1991, he tested positive for HIV. Thus his career was over, and he will be remembered by many for being infected by the disease. How Magic Johnson contracted the disease may not be fully revealed, but by his own admission he had been with several women. Anytime you become involved with activities such as he was engaged in, there are consequences. When God created man and woman, He also created marriage. His intent was always one man, one woman for life. Sexual activity was intended to be practiced by husband and wife. It was never intended to be practiced outside of the marriage relationship. When it is, there are consequences. There have been many who have spoken and written on the subject of abstinence saying that it dosen't work. Trust me, it works every time. If you abstain from an activity, you will not have to face the consequences that come from engaging in it. God's plan always works. It is our refusal to follow the plan that creates our problems. |
