Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Thought: Ever been in total darkness? On vacation once we went on a cave tour and they turned out the lights to show us how dark it is in there. With our eyes wide open we could see absolutely nothing. Finding your way out would be impossible. When they turned the lights back on everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Christ is that relief for our souls. He was and continues to be the light of the world. As Norm so aptly put it, Jesus (1) Penetrates the darkness, (2) Condemns the darkness and (3) Dispels that darkness. So we have a choice. Do we want to walk in total darkness or do we want to let the Light of the world shine in us and thru us? |
