Minute Message 8/13/11 - "What Do You Want?"

What Do You Want?

Do you remember how wet it was during Spring? Do you recall looking forward to some
warm sunshine? Are you waiting with great anticipation for the rains to return?
People are indeed a fickle bunch aren’t they? It seems that we really do not know what
we want. One day we just have to have that new piece of merchandise promising happiness and
the next day we are looking with fascination at something else. Maybe it is not a thing, but a
relationship. Whatever it is, it will certainly accomplish for us whatever we discarded as a
failure. Or will it?

Churches sometimes find themselves attempting to supply all that people are looking for
to enrich their lives only to find what they made available was not adequate. Thus people move
from church to church in search of that new something.

Jesus found this to be true when He encountered the religious leaders. They accused John
of having a demon because he was so strange in his dress and eating habits and they said Jesus
was a drunk and a glutton because he was opposite of John.

What are you looking for? Turn to Jesus, and He will give you what you are searching
for.
