"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and tramped under people's feet." Thought: Can we be to salty? I remember they used to pack meats etc. in salt to preserve them. And I suppose you could ruin a meal by using to much salt. But as I read this verse the other day I got to thinking about commitment. The analogy between salt and commitment. Just how committed (salty) to God are we. How much of our heart and soul do we really put into our worship/prayers. Is it just enough to get by and is there such a thing with God as just getting by? Do we look good infront of our congregations, say and do all the right things and then not do God's will? Or are we wholly commited to God and his will? Stand up for what you believe in, commit yourself whole heartedly to God, half way won't make the cut. For your own sake put salt in your life. |
