The speaker mentioned last Sunday that before there could be a beginning, there has to be an ending. That thought stayed with me much of the day. Consider that there can be no new year unless the old year comes to an end. There can be no new life unless the old life ceases to exist. Even in marriage, as two people stand together to take their vows of marriage, there is a realization that there is an end to a life of singleness and all that it entails.'' It is therefore important for us to understand that life, as God would have us live, cannot begin until we are willing to put an end to a life that was lived in rebellion against God. When one contemplates life in God, the possibilities unfold and opportunities come our way. Consider the fact that everyone in the world wants peace and happiness. As we reflect, those things that robbed us of those God given pleasures, we embrace a whole new way of thinking and living. We begin to live again. As long as we follow God and imitate the life of Jesus, no one thing or person can take our blessings away from us. It is time to begin a new life. |
