Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Thought: Sacrifice, what does this word really mean to us? The dictionary will give you a few examples. Suffering loss, give up or renounce, surrender of one thing for the sake of another. What truly is the ultimate sacrifice in our eyes? Do we really know or understand what a real sacrifice is? If we walk in the light of the Lord that sacrifice is that Christ gave up his life, suffered and died, took on our sins so that we would have a way to God the Father. The song "Because He Lives" sums it up well. God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus, He came to love heal and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives. There is no greater sacrifice than God giving Jesus, and Jesus's willingness to come and live and die for us. |
