Resolutions - Luke 15:18
Cheryl Owens
I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

Thought: This verse is from the parable of the lost son. He set out on his own and found out in time he needed his father, his family. Like the prodigal son we have a Father in Heaven who wants to welcome us back and forgive us of our sins. All we need to do is have a repentant heart, ask his forgiveness and make every effort to sin no more.

It is almost new years eve. A time when we tend to make resolutions for the up coming year. I am reminded of the song we sing, "I Am Resolved"

Vs 1. no longer to linger, Charmed by the world's delight; Things that are higher things that are nobler these have allured my sight.
Vs 2. to go to the Savior, leaving my sin and strife; He is the true One, He is the just One, He hath the words of life.
Vs 3. to follow the Savior, Faithful and true each day, Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth, He is the living way.
Vs 4. to enter the kingdom, Leaving the paths of sin; Friends may oppose me, foes my beset me, Still will I enter in.

What about you? What are you resolved to do?
