Enter ye in at the strait (narrow) gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life; and few there be that find it. Thought: These two verses are not that hard to understand, its just that sometimes we tend to want to have our cake and eat it too. In Johnsons Notes they explain that the narrow gate was a small gate, usually in a retired corner and opened only to those who knocked. If the gate is to hard to find maybe it's because we are trying to walk in to broad a pathway. In another part of the bible it also says, seek and we shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you. |
