If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Thought: A great many of us consider ourselves religious. Are we really? Are we making our religion worthless? A lot of people look at this verse and only think about watching what we say or taking care of others in need. Although it is important to care for others in distress don't forget to keep your focus on God and not be ruled by worldly pleasures.
