Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. Fo he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. Thought: When we are partaking in the Lord's Supper we need to be examining our thoughts. We need to be thinking of the sacrafice that was made for us and focus on that sacrafice giving thanks To God. To take it unworthily, in a disorderly way or with an unholy or wrong attitude profanes the whole purpose. If you eat and drink as though it were just a cracker and juice you eat and drink damnation. We need to keep in mind these are memorials and make it a special moment. If we judge ourselves spiritually and keep in mind how our behavior needs to be and correct those wrongs, we can avoid God's wrath and judgement. |
