Shield yourselves - Ephesians 6:16 (NIV)

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
The King James Version says: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the firery darts of the wicked.

Thought: The Roman oblong shield, four and a half feet long, covered the whole body and was a protection of itself. So also our faith should be be a sheild that protects us. A faith the trusts in God and never doubts, is the best of all defenses. A complete faith that will put out the doubts, whisperings and evil suggestions of the wicked.

There is a song we sing titled Faith Is the Victory.
Faith is the Victory, Faith is the Victory, O glorious victory the overcomes the world. (It's a short song but it says it all.)
Hebrews 11-1 says Faith is...being certain of what we do not see.

Sometimes Faith is all there is when you're surrounded by the "Other Stuff" - kind of like the old saying, "When you're up to your rear in alligators, it's hard to admit your original intent was to drain the swamp."

Well, sometimes when you end up in the swamp, and the alligators are looking hungry, faith is all there is.

And unless it's your time to go, that's all you need...
