God "will give to each person according to what he has done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. Thought: Sinners may escape punishment for a time and think they may get away with sin altogether. This is not true. God will render judgement on that final day, to every man according to his works. Sinner or saint, Jew or Gentile. |

You know, this is probably one of the greater dangers out in Christian life. Far too many people figure that since they were once baptized (or baptized as a baby, etc) that they have a sure-fire ticket to Heaven and there is nothing they could do to have anything else happen, because "God is a loving God, he wouldn't send me to hell!" What do you think of that thought in light of scripture? How would you explain that to someone? For the purpose of this question, assume the person was baptized as a child and has lived a fairly-OK but not exactly Christian lifestyle. What would you do? Mark -Posted by Mark R. Greetings, Brother Mark In ref. to your question as to luke warm. It is my belief that Matt. 7:18-23 speaks well to those who are luke warm. Where Jesus tells believers to depart becasue HE knows them not. This thought and scripture may also deal w/baptism. Taking consideration of Acts 2: 38-47. Giving attention to V. 42 (continue steadfastly-K.J.) And V.43 ( fear of GOD). 1 Samuel 15:22 is one I always remember - to obey is better than sacrifice, and to harken is better than than the fat of rams. Mark, I thank you for providing such questions / discussion and for your work in the LORD. Rick. |
