(NIV) Do not merely listen to the word, and so decieve yourselves. Do what it says.

(KJV) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving you own selves.

Thought: Many times it seems that we hear God's word. We listen, we understand and then we go merrily on our way doing as we please.
God has given us the eternal road map. Read the map, go where it tells you. It leads to streets paved with gold.

Listening is a good start but you have to take what you hear and apply it to you daily lives. Get off the milk, Get out of the boat!
