Suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin. In the same way, I tell you there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Thought: Most if not all of us have been to or seen a big sporting event or concert. All the cheering and rejoicing at them. Think how it would be if all that cheering was for you. It is you know. When you come (or came) forward to either be baptized or repenting of your sins that is the kind of rejoicing there was in heaven and still is. When a person realizes they can no longer be out in the cold or the dark and confesses their sins, we should be like those angels and always rejoice in the joy of finding what was lost to us and now is found. |
