| This is a great sermon on how the church must remain relevant to the people it works to help. We can't change our mission or purpose, but we do need to make sure we're meeting the needs of those we teach. The Bible is THE standard by which the church must operate. It was not written by scholarly, learned men, with a bunch of letters after their name (like PHD's and all that) but by ordinary people like you and me with God's guidance. Although we may need some help from time to time to understand the use of some words and phrases as to how they applied in the days past, if we can READ, we can know all that God felt we needed to know to live a good Christian life. Note: If you have a friend that can't read, or does not read English well, or is blind or otherwise disabled, please contact us. We have downloadable Bibles in MP3 where all you have to do is sit back and listen. Even for those who -can- see well, it's a great way to learn. |
