Graduation has come and gone and the future is yet to be written. No one knows what will become of our graduates. I hope each of them will pursue their dream and make their parents and those who know them proud.

     It has been a proven fact that often our kids will rise to their parents and friend’s expectation. If we as parents communicate to our children that we believe in them and will support them in their plans, they will often pursue the level of excellence we believe they can reach.

     The opposite is also true. If we suggest that their chances of making it in the world are slim to none, we should not be surprised that they choose not to try. Let me illustrate: If we suggest that kids will have sex while in school, why should we be surprised when we find them following through with our prediction? Would it not be better to help them realize that decisions they make now will impact them for a life time? Would it not be better to suggest to them that their behavior will influence their reputation and that you have a greater opinion of them than what their choices say about them? Give your kids a chance, believe in them and TELL THEM you believe in them.
