The election is finally over. Maybe we can now get back to normal (whatever normal is). I am still confused as to what the term “public servant means.” It is a sad day when people cannot put themselves out there in a clear and transparent fashion so that the voter can make an independent evaluation and choose the one they believe best represents what is best for the country. However, dishonesty seems to be the way of campaigning. Words and phrases are taken out of context to make the opposition appear to support something that is contrary to their beliefs. People want to take money out of politics (no argument from me) but I would like to see people held accountable for what they say and do.

     Character should mean something to us. We should hold people to a standard that does not fade with time or is ignored by the populace. When leaders are free to conduct their lives in a manner that is out of step with what is right, it will impact all of us. God is still God, and His way has been proven true over the centuries. We can avoid making a sham of our lives if we would come back to God’s truth and live by it.
